Congratulations, everyanon! The Edinburgh Protest, by police count, was 130 strong at its largest! Worldwide, over 9,000 Anonymous took to the streets on Sunday 10th, the Birthday of their most well known victim, Lisa McPherson. As well as Anonymous, there were many ex-Scientologists, the "Disconnected" members of families torn apart by the church, cult researchers and public figures all showing their support. Videos and pictures of all the raids, including news coverage, can be found at http://forums.enturbulation.org . The Protests against Scientology by Anonymous worldwide has had the desired effect: The press' interest has massively increased, and the coverage has largely been on our side! Even America, where the larger networks tend to side with the cult, had largely balanced reports. Aside from a few Fox affiliates still referring to Anonymous as a "group of cyber terrorists" (the Church's official line), and a newspaper photoshopping some images of the Protests to make Anonymous look immature, the reporting has largely been positive. Many papers and local news studios still had their facts wrong: Several did not mention that the protests happened worldwide or made Anonymous out to be paranoid, rather than reading the literature or asking about the masks. However, the number of news outlets who got it right far outweighed those that did not. Only a single news studio openly attacked Anonymous as a gang of "religious bigots"; not surprisingly, it was later revealed that the best friend of the owner of that station is a Scientologist.
Getting the message out to the general public was also very successful. For example, Google searches for "Lisa McPherson" are nearly 20 times more common.
Worldwide, there were no Anonymous arrested, but 4 Scientologists from various countries were arrested for attempting to assault members of Anonymous, rip off masks to photograph them, etc.
In some places in the UK they used the expected tactics of hiring neds to pretend to be Anonymous and cause trouble. They were quickly removed by the police, who saw it coming a mile away.
Anonymous, you have done yourselves and the cause proud. With this much attention and the swaying of public opinion, our movement will certainly continue with the incredible momentum and force it has shown.
The "fourth wave" of Anonymous' strategy continues! You are cordially invited for cake outside of your local Scientology building on the 15th of March, where Anonymous will celebrate L Ron Hubbard's birthday. The style, of course, is Fancy Dress.
